Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater National Park, Serengeti National Park.

Day 1:

Depart USA for Tanzania, and connect flight in Amsterdam, London or Africa.

Day 2: Arusha

Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha where we will meet you and transfer you to a first -class hotel in Arusha.

Day 3: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Enjoy breakfast and a briefing from your guide before heading into Tarangire National Park. We’ll enjoy a game drive in the afternoon as well the following day.  Wildlife you will view in Tarangire include elephants, impala, ostrich and dozens of the hundreds of bird species that frequent the Tarangire swamp habitat. You will also enjoy the spectacle of the ancient and gnarly Baobab trees that dot the hills. Overnight @ your choice of lodging.

Day 4: Tarangire National Park – Lake Manyara National Park

Enjoy a picnic lunch en route to Lake Manyara National Park where you will enjoy the day’s game drive viewing baboons, zebra and hippos as well as the spectacular view of the Rift Valley that opens up to the east across the lake.  A small park, we will be able to see most of it in one day affording you many wildlife viewing opportunities.

Day 5: Lake Manyara – Ngorongoro Crater National Park

Enjoy breakfast at your lodge before heading for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you will enter the largest unloaded, unbroken volcano caldera in the world. Created by a volcanic explosion 3 million years ago, the crater covers 100 square miles at 1800 feet above sea level.  Ngorongoro is a UNESCO World Heritage Sight and one of Africa’s Natural Wonders. The area is at once a conservation area and habituated by members of the Maasai tribe who herd their cattle here. In the crater  you will see rhinoceros, lions, and water buffalo.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater National Park

After breakfast, we will again descend into the crater for a day of game viewing. Flamingo, stork, wildebeests and Cape buffalo all inhabit the grasslands of Ngorongoro. Our picnic lunch will be enjoyed with views of the wide open space and the grass being brushed by the breeze.

Day 7,8,9 and 10: Ngorongoro Crater National Park – Olduvai Gorge – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we will head into the Serengeti National Park, picnicking at Nabi Hill Gate and visiting the Olduvai Gorge Center along the way. The Gorge is where the earliest known human remains were discovered by the anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey. Game viewing will be part of day as large herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle migrate and feed across the plains.

Our days in the Serengeti will be broken up into two game drives, one in the early morning, returning to our lodge for lunch and rest before heading back out in the late afternoon. There is a lot of land to cover and much to see in the Serengeti including hippo pools and tree hanging leopards. Hot air balloon can part of the activities during your tour in the Serengeti plains.

Day 11: Serengeti National Park – Karatu

Depart the Serengeti this morning and head to Karatu, which is for the birds, literally. The area is inhabited by almost 200 varieties and you will be amazed at the variety and abundance. You’ll enjoy hikes in the Karatu region to waterfalls, gardens and a quaint village to shop.

Day 12: Karatu to Arusha

After breakfast, we will begin heading back to Arusha with a picnic lunch along the way. Enjoy the afternoon browsing the many stalls in the Arusha marketplace and picking up some handcrafts, fine art or jewelry to bring home with you.

Day 13: Arusha

Enjoy the day relaxing and reflecting on the many things you’ve seen and done in the last week. If you want to explore we will guide you on a hike or shopping in Arusha. If you are departing Tanzania from Nairobi, transportation back there will depart in the early afternoon. If you fly from (KIA) Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be transferred to the airport after an early dinner.

Day 14:

Arrive home!
